The name says it all – you provide the most important ingredient – Love!
- 4 cups whole grain flour (e.g. oat, spelt or a combination)
- ½ cup oatmeal
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoons safflower oil
- 1 teaspoon carob powder
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1½ cups filtered water
Preheat oven to 300°F. Mix all ingredients together, then turn out onto a lightly floured surface and knead well. Roll out dough to 1/8”. Cut dough into shapes. Place woofles on parchment paper on cookie sheets. Bake for 55 minutes, then turn down oven to 150ºF and bake for two hours. Turn the oven off. Try to leave the woofles in the oven overnight, so they are really bone hard. This way, you do not have to store them in a special container or refrigerate them.
THE BENEFITS OF CINNAMON: Cinnamon has a long history as both a spice and as a medicine. It was first used medicinally in Egypt and parts of Europe, as far back as 500 BC. In both traditional Chinese medicine and Ayurveda, cinnamon is recognized as an excellent circulation tonic.
