A new certification reinforces Air Canada’s unparalleled commitment to the welfare of live animals, reassuring pet parents across the globe.
Air Canada recently became the first CEIV Live Animals certified airline, further reinforcing their commitment to the safe transport of live animals. This new standardized global certification was awarded to the airline after they participated in a pilot program earlier this year. The International Air Transportation Association (IATA) reviewed Air Canada Cargo’s live animal transport policies and procedures and the Montreal facility. After the final audit, zero findings were reported for a perfect score and the certification was granted on August 9th, 2018, demonstrating that Air Canada Cargo is operating to the highest standards in the transport of live animals, be it exotic species or household pets.
With this new certificate in hand, Air Canada has proven how devoted they are to every animal that comes through their facility. For many pet parents, this means the world. “We expertly handle complex shipments, from rescued dogs, endangered animals travelling between zoos for conservation efforts and of course family pets,” says Tim Strauss, Vice President, Cargo. “We are honoured to have been selected to participate in the CEIV Live Certification program and are proud of the team at Air Canada Cargo for achieving the industry’s first ever certification, which reinforces our position as an industry leader.”
