She acted alongside the “King of Rock and Roll” and wowed audiences with her performance in Star Trek. Indeed, Celeste Yarnall will be fondly remembered by her fans… especially those in the pet community.

Animal advocate and Hollywood icon Celeste Yarnall passed away on October 7, 2018 at the age of 74. This hard-working, multi-talented legend began her career as a model and actress, starring alongside Elvis Presley and making guest appearances in countless films and TV shows, including the original Star Trek. But despite her colorful career in show biz, Yarnall rerouted in the early 1990’s and began pursuing her passion for natural pet health. Her holistic healthcare books Natural Cat Care and Natural Dog Care quickly became well-respected titles in the industry. Her third book, The Complete Guide to Holistic Cat Care, was co-written by holistic veterinarian Dr. Jean Hofve, and includes extensive information on antiaging protocols, raw food preparation, herbs and supplements and pages of additional advice for raising cats naturally.

But her involvement in the pet world doesn’t end there. A PhD in Nutrition and years of research gave Yarnall the expertise to launch her own radio show, “Celestial Pets”, which she later developed into a line of high-quality supplements for cats and dogs. As many of her family, friends and fans can attest, her products are made from human-grade ingredients, and she often reported that if she couldn’t eat it herself, it wasn’t good enough for the animals!

Yarnall has delivered speeches on animal nutrition at many events, including the American Holistic Veterinary Medical Association’s annual conference in 1999. She contributed to a number of pet health publications, including Animal Wellness Magazine, offering tips and advice on the benefits of raw diets for cats and dogs. She was well-versed in several modalities, including NAET, Reiki and TAT, and operated a holistic practice, consulting with both human and animal patients across the globe. She will be deeply missed, but her impact on the animal community will forever remain.
