It’s not always the right time to adopt an animal. But that doesn’t mean you can’t find a different way to help this Adopt a Cat Month!

“I’m too busy to open my home to an animal!”

“My husband has a severe pet allergy!”

“I already have four cats!”

Adopting a cat isn’t a possibility for some people – and that’s okay! Admitting when you’re unable to provide quality, long-term care for a pet is part of being a responsible animal advocate. But if you still want to help out in honor of Adopt a Cat Month, don’t fret! There is more than one way to lend a hand.

Spread the word!

Raising awareness is the quickest and simplest way you can help. Simply post about Adopt a Cat month on your social media pages, and encourage others to adopt rather than shop for their next feline companion! Not sure what to write? Share this blog!

Contact your local shelter or rescue to see if they need extra hands. Most organizations gladly accept applicants of all ages and experience to assist in different ways, such as feeding, grooming, or playing with the animals.

If you don’t have much time to spare, donating is another great way to help. Many rescues and shelters are non-profit, which means they rely on donations of food, toys, beds and other pet products. If you’re not sure what to donate, consider giving a monetary contribution.

If you’re unable to commit to anything long term, fostering offers a way for you to give a kitty a safe place to live until he finds his forever home! Pay a visit to your local shelter and let them know you’re interested in becoming a foster.

Offer your skills.

Are you a photographer? A graphic designer? A marketing specialist? It takes all kinds of professionals to operate an animal shelter, and there’s a good chance your skill might be just what your local organization is lacking.

Adopting a cat is an exciting and rewarding experience – but it’s not always in the cards. This June, celebrate Adopt a Cat Month by helping in any way you can!
